Our costs explained

Our aim is to be as open as possible with our fees so you know from the outset how much your divorce or civil partnership dissolution will cost you.

Our five options are based on non-contested divorces, where both parties either consent to divorce or where the other party agrees not to defend the divorce.

The price we quote is the price you pay – we do not charge extra for postage, photocopying or for a contribution towards our indemnity cover – you receive all this as standard.

The fees quoted on this website relate to your divorce only. If you need legal help regarding your children, financial settlements or any other aspects of family law we can help you via our Q&A Law Advice Line.

Additional Costs

The following fees are in addition to our fees but are costs incurred by us on your behalf with third parties.

Court fees £300.00
Decree Absolute £40.00

In addition, we are required by law to check the identity of clients who we provide legal advice for and there is a charge of £5.00 + VAT for this. This charge only applies to Options Two, Three, Four and Five but does not apply to option One. This fee is automatically deducted when you submit your order.

If you do not know the whereabouts of your partner, it may be neccesary to carry out a formal search through a tracing agent or by court order. This incurs an additional fee and if you would like us to arrange this for you please contact us on 01707 640940 or by email to answers@qandalawdivorce.co.uk

Sending the divorce petition
If your partner does not acknowledge receipt of the divorce petition we can instruct a third party (known as a Process Server) who will serve the petition. He will then swear an affidavit of service which confirms your spouse has received the divorce petition. This incurs an additional fee which is not included in the fixed price and can delay your divorce.
